Luis Gonzalez - 3M – Account Executive
Luis Gonzalez has over 30 years of professional fire suppression experience and is part of a global team that is responsible for 3M’s Novec™ 1230 Fire Protection Fluid business.
Beginning 1982, Luis served in the United States Air Force as a Fire Protection Specialist. Early in his career he worked through an increasingly responsible series of positions including NYC Master Fire Suppression Licensee for SimplexGrinnell in New York City. He has worked in most facets of special hazard fire suppression systems including designs, installations, testing and maintenance, contract sales and project management. He served as the District Manager for Standard Products, Foam and Engineered Systems with Ansul. Luis owned his own Fire Suppression company prior to joining 3M.
Completed studies: Fire Science Management at North Dakota’s State School of Science, University of Phoenix, and a Business Administration/Marketing Degree from Bloomsburg University.
Luis is a member of the Fire Suppression System Association, NFPA and participates in regional SFPE and NAFED chapters and provides continuing education courses on Clean Extinguishing Agents throughout the country.
Stephen Lumley – Johnson Controls - Business Development Manager Fire, ANZ, Special Hazards
Stephen has over 30 year’s working experience within the fire protection industry. Currently in the role of Business Development Manager for all Special Hazard products. His role includes bringing to market new and innovated products and providing product knowledge to the industry and best practises in the Special Hazards field.
Having worked on, designed & commissioned gas suppression systems ranging from a single cylinder to systems with over 300 cylinders he has cover every aspect, problem and hurdle that can be conceived and worked through them.
With knowledge gained from working on projects in the UK, Europe, Africa & the Middle East he has a wealth of experience to share.
Throughout his career, he has always taken a keen interest in new products and quite often volunteered to assist in testing of new system. He is passionate about safety and always teaches best practises when working with pressurised equipment. He has 25 years of room integrity testing behind him and is always on hand to help with room integrity issues and solutions.
